Identification
The only gecko in the Galapagos without expanded didgits. Alo the only diurnal gecko in the Galapagos.
Description
Males are overall nondescript brown with distinctive yellow to orange heads covered in brown to black reticulations. Females are overall plain brown without any distinctive features.
Galapagos Distribution
An introduced species which has taken up residence in Galapagos towns such as Puerto Ayora, Puerto Villamil, Puerto Baquerizo Moreno and El Progreso.
Global Distribution
Native to the west Ecuadorian and north western Peruvian lowlands.
Status in the Galapagos
Common resident, restricted to human settlements.
